famous Pakistani host and actress Nida Yasir has responded to the present comments of her husband, actor Yasir Nawaz, regarding second marriages saying there is something more behind the playful comments.
A few days ago in a podcast with Nida and his brother Danish Nawaz, Yasir commented about wives getting fathers along with him, by saying that the husband should marry every fifteen after age of marriage. He added humour to it by saying that wives who refused to follow would get imprisoned.
Nida, the quick-witted and calm-headed person, responds to this by another famous Urdu saying: “Those who thunder, do not rain” and she also explains that Yasir almost always makes such comments during the interview as if they are in the jests.

On Faisal Qureshi’s podcast, Nida further elaborated the issue. When asked about Yasir’s comments, she said that those were just jokes.
“If these were serious comments about second marriages, I would never have let him openly have such discussions,” Nida added with a smile, also saying that humour should not be taken out of context.
She added, “Taking jokes too seriously only creates unnecessary tension which is of no benefit really. It is better to laugh and move on.”
Nida’s Perspective on Future Possibilities
Nida spoke of how contrary to her understanding, she accepts the unpredictability of life. In such a case, Yasir should do what he wishes if he wants to take a second wife in his old age. “We can never tell what the future holds,” she said.
However, Faisal Qureshi lightened the mood by saying that Yasir Nawaz was too sensible to ever consider a second marriage. “It only complicates a man’s life. It’s better to be happy with one marriage,” Faisal said, bringing laughter from Nida and the audience.
